Mind Children ZX Spectrum game

In a car boot fair, Bob made an extraordinary discovery. He found an old cassette in a pile of junk - a ZX Spectrum adventure game based on The Mind Children!

It dates from 1983, four whole years after the series was broadcast and cancelled, and years after its author Damon Allan is believed to have died.

Bob has transferred the game to a simulator and uploaded it so you can watch the loading screen in the video above, and play it in the emulator below. Some tips for playing the game follow.

Bob says:

"It's a tricky little game and no mistake. The aim is to collect six objects, each one is a piece of evidence representing wrongdoing in each episode of the series, and bring them to the telephone exchange, which is the Mind Children HQ.

You move around in the usual way of these games, by typing in directions like 'n', 'sw', 'up', 'down' and so on. 

You can examine the scene again by typing 'look', you pick things up with, for example, 'get hammer.'

There are some red herrings and at least one vicious trap for the unwary that causes one piece of evidence to be destroyed. I confess I had to reverse-engineer the game to complete it, though I never was much cop at these adventure games. I may yet do a complete walk-through!
